What's there not to like about Balmain? The collections have all that I love- padded shoulders, slim jackets, studs, faded jeans, harem pants, micro minis. Although his latest F/W '09 collection brings to mind his S/S '09 collection, I'm not complaining. Having sell out his US$1,500 jeans, I don't think Christophe Decarnin is complaining either. Being one of the most universally lauded collections of all seasons, you won't be surprise his creations have launched a million interpretations. Maybe the tie-dye jeans and studded bag you bought from Bugis Street are just some excellent examples.

Let us scream as we recall some of his most famous padded slim fit jackets and acid-washed jeans.

Argh, can someone buy me one? Just anyone!

Now, for his Fall Winter 09 collection. It' the epitome of class/ chic/ trashy sexiness/ andro aesthetic. Let's scream again.

Let's start with some studded slim jackets with harem pants. Aww the jackets are so flattering, best if you have small dropy shoulders. They'd cover your flaws and sharpen you up immediately! The harem pants are so fluid, it makes you wanna float... I especially love the last one with the long big slit in the centre. Sexy. I like how he tucked the pants into mid-calf military boots too.

Skinnies are my staple, not much to rave about but it's amazing that I can't get enough of studs and sequins too. Slap me with more please.

If you don't have killer legs or a hour-glass figure, do not try wearing these. I repeat, DO NOT try.

Here comes sleeved micro dresses to save the day! Concentrating on the shoulders might just be the clever yet simple method to divert attention from your flat hips/ thick waist.
